14:48
Sure absolutely. Good morning everyone.

14:57
Good morning!

15:49
Here’s what we are working on at SDSU:1. We are kicking the tires on Canvas Outcomes to standardize SDSU program and department-wide student learning outcome processes2. We are preparing to share SDSU’s Flex-CDI (Course Design Institute) Toolkit with CSU colleagues and others via a Creative Commons license in the Canvas Commons repository3. We are trying to grow and formalize SDSU’s use of QLT as the campus standard for QA efforts in online teaching and learning4. We are preparing to offer our long-running, semester-long Course Design Institute for online course development in Spring 2022 in the face of some very different starting points for faculty participants

17:23
CSUSM have 22 courses to QLT review this semester, we will review 10 on the fall, 12 on spring. The Faculty Center is offering a series of Teaching and Tea workshops, we had the first one yesterday with 15 attendees. We are preparing for the spring training focusing on faculty/care.

17:47
Fresno State: HyFlex Institute, DISCOVERe Mobile Device Programs are up and running.

18:19
Fresno State: We also have a call for FLCs Using Technology, Inclusion, and Pedagogy to improve our GI2025 rate.

19:37
SF State: Our Fall programming includes: 1. Teaching through Transitions (an update on our thinking about online teaching based on everything we learned from SFSU faculty during remote teaching). 2. Teaching Squares is an ongoing program to continue faculty reflection on their practice in community with peers. 3. Issuing QLT Certificates to faculty who completed the Online Teaching Lab, the JEDI Institute and Teaching Square. 4. Research on the efficacy of this certificate

19:52
@Mark, they possibly had even the questions

20:01
Mark, I’ve been doing that with my fourth-year business seniors, but they are still performing well at that age/course level

20:20
HSU happenings: Fall workshops on various technology for teaching and learning (in Zoom as we are still mostly remote). Fall Discussion Group on Anti-racist teaching led by faculty in Education and faculty in Critical Race and Gender Studies. Planning for a year-long program with a working title of Inclusive Excellence Academy that will be funded by the CO funds that campuses received to support “equal opportunity practices and provide culturally-competent professional development for faculty, including leveraging 21st Century technology to improve learning outcomes”.

20:58
Thanks for sharing @Mark!

21:13
CP SLO - After a very busy summer, we’re taking Fall a bit more slowly. We have Blended/Hybrid course training starting Monday, and Creating Accessible Materials training already taking place. We’re developing an online course review program, piloting this in spring so recruiting faculty to take the CSU workshops. We lost an ID to retirement, so trying to cope with two of us leading workshops for the campus.

21:27
HSU - also wading through HyFlex challenges, and offering a lot of open teaching forums to talk about current challenges/opportunities

21:54
San Bernardino: 1) We have 45 participants in our Fall Quality Online Teaching Program; faculty can take Q1 or Q3 then commit to develop a quality online course according to the QLT Core-24 instrument (stipend $1,500) or just commit to develop a quality online course without taking a QLT course ($500 stipend). 2) We have 160 participants in our Next Generation Smart Classrooms Cosynchronous Teaching Program, in which faculty get on-site training in cosynchronous teaching and take two self-guided trainings in Canvas ($1,500 stipend). 3) We have two courses under review for QLT certification. 4) CSUSB leadership is moving slowly on implementing the CSU-CSUEU telecommuting program; the earliest it would take effect, even in a hybrid form, would be January 2022.

23:11
CSUDH: 1. We just wrapped up our Teaching Academy which focused on Equity minded pedagogy. This is the groundwork for our spring programming. 2. We launched our new ACUE cohort with 30 new faculty. 3. We are running a workshop for folks to teach their courses on Padlet in the Spring. 4. We are working with the school of nursing and the folks in business to gauge in interest in QM

23:36
SSU - supporting online, F2F, and blended modality courses this semester. Preparing fro 70% F2F in the spring. Campus is putting together a working group to determine student needs/demands for ongoing online course/degree programs to support equity, bridge gaps, etc. and will facilitate a small HiFlex pilot. Recruiting for a January Level 2 PD course (Online Facilitation Fundamentals), and planning for two QLT External Review applications in November (fingers crossed).

24:13
CSUCI - In the planning phase. Just had first meeting with our Digital Learning Mentors (DLMs), preparing for a OneHE Reengagement Campaign, and facilitating a CSUCI Cohort in Q2.

24:55
CPP: Our focus is on accessibility and inclusivity. We have one representative from each college. We call them CHAI champion. They are our ambassadors for promoting accessibility and inclusivity. We had our launch meeting and one Campus large workshop. The Champions, are going to have two college specific workshops by the end of this semester.

25:04
CSUN is gearing up for the winter eLearning Institute, we continue offering training and support for the HyFlex pilot community and have two ongoing ACUE cohorts and preparing 5 courses for QLT course certification.

25:29
SF State: Additional detail for Transitions course: Focus is on flexible learning modes and assignments and preparedness for contingencies. 400 faculty enrolled. Stipend $1,250.

25:58
Cal State LA: A) 20 faculty just wrapped up our Online Course Design Program (mapped and built 5 modules of their course) B) 38 faculty are in the IYOC workshop now C) We have gotten 4 courses through QM Preparatory Review – all have passed D) We have recruited 14 campus peer reviewers who will help with informal campus review

27:17
CSUEB 40+ faculty participating Online Quality Transformation grants, recruiting additional 10 faculty using CO QA funding to participate as well. On going regular workshops including DYOC in November. A lot of FLC going on.

27:38
Chico State: 7 faculty completing the QLT workshop series, today (10/13) we will have Daniel Soodjinga as a guest speaker for our Teaching Racial and Social Justice Series presenting the anti-racist QLT standards he created for Stanislaus. We are starting to look for ways to create an asynchronous option to complete the QLT training, in collaboration with TLP

31:23
Chico State: we are also focusing on hyflex training now, we trained 80 faculty in summer and we will offer another GoFlex institute in January (5-12)

35:05

CSULB- 1. Fall Faculty Professional Development programs (Tier 2- Quality Essentials program, and 2 HyFlex sessions are being offered for our Fall semester).2. Teamed up with our Classroom Support team to deliver HyFlex sessions to the campus3. CSULB is offering faculty our HyFlex Student Assistant Program, where 40 student assistants have been hired to help support faculty before, during and after a HyFlex course session.4. We are now offering a new service, which is a full-service approach. IDs are now developing courses for faculty.5. Online Student Success program is being offered this semester to prepare students for online learning and provide them with campus resources- over 700 students registered.

36:09
@Anne … Fresno is case by case as well although the criteria isn’t very transparent

37:21
CSULB - We do not have a formal remote policy in place, but our ID team is asked to come in 2 days of week, the rest remote for Fall 2021.

38:02
We have temporary work from home agreements for Fall.

38:25
CSUN doesn’t have a formal policy either. We are temporary working remotely and coming in once or twice a week

39:26
