Ready to Launch? Converting Your ERWC Module to a Digital Course - Shared screen with speaker view
I emailed Richard the Zoom link again.
ok...Richard has been promoted to panelist
Hi. I am here.
Hey there Richard. Do we want Richard to try his audio and say something to us all?
no...sessions one and two have not been posted...
Not yet, but all session links will be posted after this session link is available.
So glad you all could make it.
we are waiting for the captioner to complete the task...
Nora Garcia, we do not have a make up day, but the webinar will be posted...
My screen does not show a mute or camera off button?
@Nora, I’ll be sharing a link to my slides from Tuesday, and I think there will be a video link available soon.

Zee: You have a major echo.
Interesting, I have no echo
Do you still have an echo? it seems to be your equipment...since there is no other echo...
The links to previous ERWC webinars are not yet available on the community site, but they should be up by Monday. When they get posted we will email all session participants with information regarding how to find the recorded session links.
no difference, just that you get an answer just to you from the Q&A
Are you still having trouble hearing?
We’ll be posting the previous webinars on the ERWC Online Community soon (waiting for captioning services), and we’ll also send out the recordings via email to all the registrants.
Here is the url bit.ly/ERWCRTL
Will the slides for the session one ERWC meeting from Friday, April 10th be offered to us as well?
"We can capitalize on the moments." Well said!
yes, all will be posted and all registered participants will get a link in their email...
yes, there will be 4 to 5 more sessions for a series of 8 to 9
I love that...a reverse superpower...
Thank you Zee. :)
Such important points! Teenage Sleepers, Daily Challenge (on mental health), The Value of Life, and Island Civilizations are also modules your students might find especially timely right now.
WHat are you having trouble logging into? the Online community?
Pasted for whole audience Absolutely. I have been teaching 24 years, and the last three have been senior ERWC…and I LOVE it. So many modules that are directly relevant to my audience and our/their neighborhoods and experiences. I would love to see our school offer it for all grade levels. For now, on 12th grade is done. From RoseAnn Adkins to All panelists and other attendees: (03:13 PM)
If anyone has any links/advice for continuing ed for units that I can complete to climb the pay scale (I’m a first-year teacher) I’ve been unsuccessfully and exhaustively looking with no success for 3 months. It would be so appreciated! I keep finding courses either for hours instead of units or WAY too expensive.
THe host has muted you, so you are OK...
Have you looked into t?
Teenage sleepers is a great module.
Teach Star Online Academy from LACOE
Daily challenge is awesome is as well.
@Patricia, University of San Diego just sent me a catalog - they usually offer a variety of programs if you want to take a look.
Thank you, Richard, for your inspiration and for your belief in students' ability to meet this challenging moment in time!
Juvenile Justice is amazing
Chapter 14 of Bryan Stevenson’s Just Mercy goes well with Juvenile Justice.
send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and I will help you get on after the webinar...
oh man. Look at those faces!
Oh gosh—did anyone else just tear up?

Thank you. I stole it from another teacher…
That is awesome...
great idea...especially if it will help them feel that they were a part of something...
I love Flipgrid for this purpose!
My school often has multiple speakers during graduation, even having students present collaborative speeches. I’ve done this with my classes, and they love it more than giving an individual graduation speech. I think that collaboration is even more important now
Activity 1 will also work well with a Jamboard

for ease of assessment … teacher can use peardeck with google slide to see all responses at one
The link to the Google slide was on a previous slide, 14 I think…
I so appreciate hearing about this modification for students who prefer their videos to be private.
Angie, Which docs? The ones Jen is talking about are on the Online Community
The slides from this presentation? They are at bit.ly/ERWCRTL
She is talking about the module in the Online Community
you will need to send an email to Lynda or to Zee Cline -- email@example.com
The PPT slides are at bit.ly/ERWCRTL
if you are doing ERWC on line what platform have you used. Google classroom is blocked at my school. Any help would be appreciated. Very new to this :)

Genius idea about the writing above the prompt … I love that idea when it comes to feedback
Where do you find Padlet?
padlet.com. I think the limit is 3
Thank you I will look into Canvas
Love that option for flipping through docs in Google Drive! Clicking/opening individual docs in Google Classroom is a chore and-a-half. Thanks!
Ooh! What about Mentimeter presentations?

So many great ideas! There truly is an abundance of resources. Remember we can’t master them all in this short, fraught time, even if we do have master’s degrees. Be patient with yourself; consider solving tech issues in full view of students, or simply sharing your challenges and solutions.
Voice-typing rocks, especially for students who love to talk and love writing much less.
Generating the rubric together is an exercise in genre analysis. The rubric represents the genre features students examined in the mentor texts (the graduation speeches). If genre analysis isn’t a priority skill at this time, then you could omit this activity.
Activity 18 can also be an open letter to next year’s seniors; my students loved having a larger audience
Great idea, Char!
Thank you! This has been amazing and very helpful!
ANOSA, RIMA T
This was awesome. Thank you!
That was so amazing thank you
Thank you Jen, Richard, and panelists!!! Much appreciation!

Another excellent webinar. Thank you!
I don't know
yes, the link will be on there
For Jen what platform do you recommend besides google docs?
Sorry our school won't allow
Does your District have an official LMS like Canvas?
No we have NOTHING.. I have been trying to get google classroom approved this might be the event that makes that happen.
