San Bernardino Valley College will be hosting a Great Teachers OER/Online Teaching Retreat at Cal Poly Pomona in March.
We want to hold an OER event involving students. How has anyone levered student participation?
WE are also beginning to move toward student outreach. We are approaching the school newspaper and Associated Students
We having been renting their wonderful space for our Great Teachers and the invitation will be open to local CC and CSU Pomona.
We will be hiring a student ambassador too
SJSU is really excited about our upcoming Open Access Conference on Monday, October 23!
We are starting up an OER Task Force this year that includes a number of faculty, staff, admin, and the bookstore textbook manager. Looking forward to this group helping to guide, promote, and expand our OER, AB 798, and ZTC program development efforts.
For guidelines on how to tell good stories for marketing and outreach, see http://support.skillscommons.org/connect/impact-communities/story-telling/
Does anyone know anything about the national Student PIRG? They have OER ambassadors and I wonder if they travel and do workshops ?
MiraCosta is hosting an ASCCC OER event on Saturday, Sept. 15
CSUSM is holding 2 joint events with Mira Costa CC ( Jim Julius) & Palomar CC around OER this year.
Associated Students have promised us a student representative this year.
At our annual CELT Conference we have Butte College and Chico State co presenting our programs.
Sac State will be part of a library open house, where we will showcase OER as well as ask students about SB 1359 designation preferences.
Lake Tahoe Community College is planning on celebrating having at least one fully OER class in every area and have all transfer math, physics, biology, chemistry, and geology classes using all free textbooks.

At the same CSUUnity conference at Fresno State that Leslie mentioned... when we did the panel discussion, officers (ASI) from 4 to 5 campuses came up afterward and was very interested in getting invloved. Some of them didn't even know that every campus has an AL$ coordinator or program. We encouraged them to reach out/work with their AL$ coordinators. So if you're a coordinator at your campus... reach out to your ASI... they are very interested and want to help.
Is there a way, if an institution is trying to develop ZTC classes but wants to make Tutor available, for an institutional “subscription” or something to cover the cost?
This is seems like a great service. @Community Collge people - would use of this service disquality the course for a Z-degree pathway grant?
Will, I think so, thus my question above yours
:) - you are always trying to one up me.
I know what you’re about to type even before you type it

Is there LTI integration with LMS?
The only possibility to keep ZTC and use this is to acquire an external funding source such as our college foundation or other college funds that woud pay for all students in the course.
Is the courseware WCAG 2.0 AA "certified"?
Kim, when you showed the instructor view of the questions, I noticed there was a Bloom's level identified for each question. Do students get to see that as well?
Thanks Kim, nice. How does openstax tutor compare with waymaker? And, is there any collaborative development work or plans between Lumen and openstax?
course subscription paid by campus would be great
Can we get access to play with this to see if it is something we want to pursue?
Great, thanks Kim
Kim, do you have a timeline for the inclusion of other subjects in this system, like Math for example?
What textbooks are in development to have Tutor support?
Lol Jen beat me to that one
no mic today, exactly. More instructors seem to be integrating metacognitive strategies into their teaching, and do talk with their students about Blooms, so it would be useful for the students to see at what level they are working.

Thanks for this introduction.
