Can we ask questions now?

35:37
CSUEB is still working on this and our biggest challenge is identifying these courses. I know the courses that are going through AB 798, but there are other faculty working independently with OER and we don’t know how to identify them.

36:07
Yes, CSUED, we have the same problem at CSUB.

37:29
We used the term “no cost materials” to include library access materials and OER

38:03
CSUF IT is investigating putting a symbol in the online course schedule to indicate no-cost materials. (It would be where the textbook symbol would be). However, it is still under investigation. I should know update in a few weeks. Identifying courses will have to be done at department level by support coordinator who enters course info (and will have to ask faculty when collecting book orders). We hope to create a summer training for those coordinators to update them on process.

39:04
Does Channel Island use people soft to do this?

41:04
Shelli will you use peoplesoft to do this?

41:12
What about an online web mastering option? Some faculty ditch their $125 text, but keep the $30 online web mastering option

41:17
Yes we use people soft

41:49
For CSUs using Campus Solutions and the delivered class schedule for student views, we will need a modification to CS - can we do that once for all rather than 22 different ways?

41:51
Thank you Jamie

42:17
Good idea Brian!

43:41
We will take that suggestion - thank you - important for lab courses as suggested

43:51
Could you scroll down the screen so that we can see the definition for the logo?

44:18
Can we provide a pdf list of zero cost sections in the online schedule of classes college webpage?

44:21
And if there are no instructional materials required (digital or paper based) should those also be identified the same way?

44:26

45:25
I heard that CCC chancellor's office is working on a universal OER logo (?)

49:06
We have an educational policies commitee that reviews new and updated courses, this might be another faculty senate committee that would be good to reach out to

55:04
Not sure if its OER or ZCost

55:38
Sorry I meant the logo

56:45
Can you put the definition up agian please

57:17
@Antonio: No Cost Course Materials

57:19
Thanks Leslie

58:02
Leslie, what does that implementation date mean? Would that have to be available when students register for courses that start after Jan 1st, or would it have to be available when students register for winter intersession/spring

01:01:36
I have class so I have to leave this meeting. Thanks for the informative meeting.

01:01:41
OK, thanks

01:04:25
Can we use AB 798 money to purchase pilot OER curation directory from Intellius? Does anyone recommend? I believe CSU Fresno is piloting?

01:05:27
It’s not always so "nominal."

01:05:33
We will be implementing Intellus at West Hills Lemoore after seeing it at Fresno State

01:07:14
We’re not allowed to do that.

01:07:29
Can you talk about VitalSource at all? https://www.vitalsource.com/student-etextbooks

01:07:39
YES vital source!!

01:09:21
Yes Vital Source: Please confirm it is through the Bookstore? Can we have an admin log in to show faculty? I created an account but it does not show much.

01:09:34
According to this article, it VitalSource does incluce merlot and cool4ed, is that true? https://campustechnology.com/articles/2017/04/07/california-state-university-system-streamlines-oer-adoption-for-faculty-and-students.aspx

01:09:41
Will it just be OER textbooks or other OER materials as well?

01:10:17
Off Topic: has anyone served alcohol at a recognition/vendor event? We’re wondering if wine and beer might get more attendees to attend the recognition/vendor event we’re planning for Sept.

01:10:46
Vendor pay for liquor...

01:12:04
yes, wine. it's nice to have with a dinner event but it doesn't determine attendees
