Thank you! This will be really helpful to our faculty! Having something to point to — they will love that.

Do any of the members of the panel work with the course scheduling office to have courses “tagged” with AL$, OER, ZCCM, or IA descriptors? Specifically in the CSU?

01:47:15
@Bryan good ?

01:48:03
HI Bryan. Yes at CI we have been using the no cost materials button for the course catalog since last Spring

01:48:13
I am hoping that Fresno State has that in place prior by Oct since ZCCM is tagged

01:48:41
Thanks Jamie! I will reach out to you soon if that is alright.

01:48:56
Here is a link to see how it looks for students: https://ciapps.csuci.edu/ScheduleOfClasses/NCB/Index/Fall-2018

01:49:03
Yes, feel free to reach out!

01:49:18
Great question, Bryan.

01:50:08
Long term. There is an open book being drafted by several instuttions across the US to share their case studies, etc. but this won't be available for a few months.

01:52:33
Thanks for sharing the link and for participating Jaimee.

01:52:47
And thank you Jinan, too. Wonderful perspectives and experiences.

01:54:38
yes, the bookstore at SJSU has done a great job in providing the student credit so students can acquired course materials on the first day.

01:56:47
Spartan Shops bookstore at SJSU pioneered a program with the institution where ALL students have an automatic $900 debit account just before classes start. The ‘loan’ period is @90 days for payoff and this accommodates working students who previously purchased materials and supplies incrementally. The institution is the key partner as they hold the student’s account (same as paying for fees etc.) and the default rate is under 1%, probably students who drop out. The institution absorbs the losses.

01:57:29
Thank you, Sandy! We have really been promoting this credit this semester.

01:58:41
SJSU bookstore is Barnes&Noble and our other B&N campuses are working with administration to implement the same program. I believe all of our 23 stores (Folletts and independents) are in the process of implementing similar, but not exact, programs.

01:59:20
Great resources … thank you everyone!

02:03:48
Fantastic, more Z degree possibilities.
