Hi everyone!
Jim Julius

This is just for CSU, correct?

Thx Theresa

So are all sections of a course e.g. PSYC 100 reported on one row?
Laura Sederberg
50:23
Sounds like good changes on this spreadsheet.
Jared Ceja
50:51
Do we calculate the savings off of the "before AL$ grant" adoption type as opposed to the new book price?
susan wilson
50:53
great!
Erin Walker
51:42
we want to reflect as much as possible the price to the student
Erin Walker
51:54
so I'd say whatever best reflects true 'student' cost savings
Suzanne Donnelly
53:28
This is why having good lines of communication with us bookstore folks is important ;-).
susan wilson
54:35
To follow up with that question, if we are tracking a course that first adopted OER 4 years ago, the "old" textbook may have cost $150 at that time, but may now be $180. Should we be adjusting that "old" price each year to reflect current price of that textbook?
cvinopal
55:17
Yes, impossible. Thank you.
Erin Walker
55:53

susan wilson
55:57
perfect!
Jared Ceja
56:03
You answered the question. My biggest concern was that we are now identifying various adoption types in the "before AL$ grant" section. With that being the case, I wanted to make sure we are still to measure against NEW for this report. Thanks.
Cyril
56:45
Congratulations Delmar & LibreTexts.org!
Dan Crump
01:02:53
Congrats to Antonio Lopez, librarian at Sacramento City College, who will be leading the effort of 55 faculty in the Los Rios Community College District, as a sub-awardee of Delmar's grant.
JamesGG
01:02:58
Delmar, if a project is already working in Pressbooks or with Reebus, would collaboration with you be redundant? How would LibreTexts fit with existing projects in Pressbooks or Reebus?
Delmar Larsen
01:05:51
James: Mostly, yes. Our platform is "competative" to Pressbooks although a bit more powerful. Having access to the entire OER portfolio will enable the a supped cooperative construction. This is enabled by the wiki-ly approach of our platform.
JamesGG
01:08:01
Thanks, Delmar. I'll be in touch.
Delmar Larsen
01:10:49
please do so. We love to work with people...
Theresa Dykes
01:12:16
Thank you, Delmar
Laura Sederberg
01:12:27
Can anyone help me (in CSU) with approach to take with Provost about importance of this program. I am only one leading this (voluntarily) from CSU CHICO and will retire in May.
Erin Walker
01:13:30
Hi Laura. Great question. Let's chat about that.
Laura Sederberg
01:13:45
Sure.
cvinopal
01:15:54
Do you have a team or help? Or are you the only ALS person
Theresa Dykes
01:16:15
I will get your email out to the group. Thank you so much, Jinan!

Another way to get the attention of administrators is to get the support of students

Are these VitalSource versions free and available to anyone who goes there?
Jim Julius
01:21:08
Or does it require some kind of adoption or anything?
JamesGG
01:21:09
need to create an account
Fred Neely
01:21:19
They are posted now on the AL$ website http://csuaffordablelearningsolutions.org/interactive_opentextbook

Students can do it independently?
JamesGG
01:22:27
don't know
Shelli Wynants
01:24:13
Can the FAQ sheet be shared for other schools to use as an example?
Erin Walker
01:24:49
Yes, Shelli, absolutely
cvinopal
01:24:59
Great! We would love that
Fred Neely
01:25:01
The VitalSource textbooks do have a low cost for each title. There is no faculty adoption required for students to purchase the books.
Dan Crump
01:25:05
so if a new textbook is $120, but there is a rental for $39, that would qualify for the LCCM icon, correct?
Noelia Franzen, SSU
01:25:06
Wonderful!
Theresa Dykes
01:25:07
We'll add the FAQ to the deck and share when the recording goes out to listserv.
Erin Walker
01:25:24
Yes @Dan
Fred Neely
01:25:50
VitalSource requires purchasers and adopters to sign-up and into their bookshelf program.
Jim Julius
01:26:08
For us we decided LTC must be for purchase price
Jim Julius
01:26:39

01:28:00
We are phasing out physical clickers
Laura Sederberg
01:28:08
Wouldn’t it be nice for the CSU To provide free clickers to all students?
cvinopal
01:28:30
yes. They are too expensive. 65 bucks at our bookstore and 35 to rent
Laura Sederberg
01:28:51
iClicker Cloud could be contracted for full CSU much cheaper!
cvinopal
01:29:09
yes. We use the cloud version at 14.99 for students
cvinopal
01:29:18
Better than nothing
Jared Ceja
01:29:21
The question is who provides the ongoing funding?
cvinopal
01:29:29
We also do Poll Everywhere for Free to students
cvinopal
01:29:46
So, we get courses to Zero cost by them switching to PE
